So, where have I been?

It's been quiet around IG so I figured I would post up and let those who might be wondering what cave I fell into where I went.

My wife and I just had a baby a couple weeks ago, and that is all going well.

We totally renovated our 80-something year old house over the last few months which has been eating up every waking moment I have that I am not working. It's finally getting close to complete though, probably only another month or so. We moved back in over this past weekend, I still have a bunch of small odds and ends to wrap up but it's really starting to come together nicely.

I should be back into the swing of things here with updates and LAN party/outing plans real soon. Stay tuned!

My folks are coming into town this week, so we entertain alot for the summer. They're retired military, and sold the house a few years back & live on the road full time in one of those huge, scary-that-it's-driven-by-old-people RV monsters. We see 'em about once a year, just enough.

Other than that, work and shit, need to plan a vacation before the Wife kills me in my sleep too. Thinking about Vancouver, maybe Iceland, something like that.

Glad to hear things are coming along for you Erik. I bet you'll breathe a huge sigh of relief (or two) when its all done. I wish I could help ya out, but my schedule just doesn't permit.


Just got back from a week in San Antonio. Was fun. Liz actually let me relax on this trip, lol.

80 year old house eh? Have you had much problem with any lead paint issues? You're kinda in the real bad spot of having very young kids with the possiblity of that stuff being around.

Not really, most all of it was removed in the 80's when the house was semi-rehabbed. I did remove all the window trim though as it was pretty nasty under the aluminum flashing they encapsulated it in when the rehab was done. Yuck. I had the wife and kids living in another house while I was dealing with the demo phase for this reason, along with all the dust and stuff.
