Help! Your vote can help Lorrie and I win our dream wedding!

Hey folks,

Last week someone at Lorrie's work told her about a wedding contest through fox 45 news. You had to submit your engagement story and a picture and they were going to pick 2 couples every day this week. Well, Lorrie and I were the first couple to be picked. What happens now is between 9am and 4pm today, we need to get as many votes as possible. At the end of the week, it will be just 5 couples left.

Than the top 3 couples with the highest votes will be on the news and be interviewed. The first prize is a $32,000 wedding reception, the second is a cruise for 2 and third is a photography package.

Glad to see you got to the final three I got you 10 votes from friends and getting more from family.

As far as checking who is voting they are most likly checking MAC addresses so it would be only one vote per maching but that does not make sense for voting in a household ......so don't know LOL

Do you think it's the internal network mac id's or the external network? (ie mac of the router or modem vs. the machine itself) That would rock!

I beleave it would be the PCs MAC address not the Modems or routers the webpage probley is able to send the PC MAC address through with the selection but if you have multibile people voting is one house hold it would not make sense to BAN the PC from accepting any more votes based on just that one address because you could have more than one person living in a house.

That is the only way I know of that they could keep somone from just sending a mailing list of persons e-mail addresses to one person.

Umm, im just guessing. But could'nt they just limit the number of votes from each pc mac address. Like say 10 votes per pc, as it would be unlikely for more then 10 real people to vote from the same machine. To me that sounds like the easiest and best way to prevent fake votes.

Btw, I, my family, my families family, my coworkers, my coworkers family, and even some random people picked off the street have 'voluntarily' voted for youse.

Yes, we taped it!! This is actually Lorrie. I didn't feel like signing out of Erik's name and all that. Erik is going to put it on DVD and maybe you guys can watch it at the lan and watch me make a fool out of myself. It will be good entertainment!!
